The Harford County Astronomical Society (HCAS) holds free observing and education programs for the general public. The open house events are held at the Harford Community College Observatory. Parking is at Harford Technical High School with a short walk to the observatory. (Handicap parking is available at the observatory). The events start at 7 PM standard time and 8 PM daylight savings time. HCAS assists Scouts with achieving their pins/badges/loops. If you would like to bring your Scout group or youth group for a program, you must contact HCAS to schedule a date and time. Please email harfordastro@yahoo.com to set up an appointment for your group to attend. HCAS, on occasion, will visit your location; however, it is best if your group can come to us. Come view the night sky through our telescopes and binoculars.
A couple of special open house events are September 18 which is International Observe the Moon Night
and October 16 is Astronomy Day
HCAS will also be at Swanfest on Sunday, October 10, 2010 from 11:00 AM-4:00 PM at Swan Harbor Farm, 401 Oakington Rd,Havre de Grace,MD
